PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

PERTH CITY

Perth is the capital and largest city of Western Australia. It's the fourth most populous city in Australia with a population of 2.1 million living in the Greater Perth Metropolitan region sprawling125km from Two Rocks in the north to Singleton in the south (at 2020). Our most popular attractions are the Perth City and Cultural Centres, Optus Stadium, Perth Zoo, the port town of Fremantle, our beautiful coastline (I really can't brag enough about our white sandy beaches), and the Swan River however our national parks, such as Kings Park and Yanchep National Park, draw Perth-ites and visitors alike all year round. WIRELESS HILL RESERVE AND KINGS PARK BOTANIC GARDEN

Perth has many amazing wildflower hot spots to visit in the Springtime. Two of my favourites are Wireless Hill Reserve in Applecross and the Wildflower Festival in the Botanic Gardens at Kings Park. There you will find many species of orchids, sundews, bush peas, everlastings and other popular endemic flowers.

ARALEUN BOTANIC PARK

Araluen Botanic Park is located within 59 hectares of West Australian native forest. 14 hectares of the developed gardens are home to thousands of plants that flourish in the rich soils and supportive micro-climate that is created in this valley across the Darling Scarp of the Perth hills. Araleun is beautiful in Autumn. Looks at these amazing fall colours!
Araleun Tulip Festival - a must see attraction every springtime!

YANCHEP NATIONAL PARK

Close to Perth but away from the hustle and bustle, Yanchep National Park is a treasure for us Perthites. Come and explore wildlife, caves, adventures in trees, walk trails, camping and more. Visit their website to learn more - exploreparks.dbca.wa.gov.au/park/yanchep-national-park

COTTESLOE BEACH

Cottesloe Beach is a top tourist destination in Perth. Perfect for swimming, snorkeling and surfing with a huge tiered grass area for picnics, watching the sun set or relaxing with friends. In March,  Cottesloe Beach is transformed into an outdoor gallery of giant sculptures at the Sculpture by the sea exhibition - always well worth a visit, especially at sunset. LESMURDIE FALLS

Lesmurdie Falls is located in the Mundy Regional Park in the hills east of Perth, and is one of the more spectacular waterfalls on the Darling Range escarpment. There are a number of walk trails you can explore from here depending on the time you have, your level of fitness and the degree of difficulty you choose.
